What is a wax melt?

Wax melts are becoming increasingly popular - these little pieces of wax pack in a lot of fragrance! So for those of you who are new to them, here's all you need to know!

Firstly you will need a wax warmer, these can be either tealight or electric. We offer a range of warmers for all tastes and budgets.
Place the wax in the dish of the warmer, taking care not to overfill, and place a four hour tealight in the base (or switch on if using an electric warmer.) It is important to use four hour tealights to prevent damage to your warmer caused by overheating. It is also worth noting that the very small warmers are only suitable for oil as when used for wax these will burn off the scent more quickly and you don't get the best from your melts!
As the wax melts, the scent will be released - this is called 'hot throw'. You may see vapours coming off the wax; this is completely normal, it is the fragrance being released and a sign of a good melt!
All of our melts should provide at least eight hours scent for your home, often more. Some fragrances are stronger than others and scent is also a very personal thing. Also burning the same scent for extended periods can cause us to go 'nose-blind' so it's a good idea to vary the scents you use.
Once the wax loses it's scent, simply place a lit tealight in the base or switch on the warmer and after around 60 seconds you should be able to slide out the used wax disc. NEVER use a knife to scrape out the wax as this may damage or even shatter your warmer.
Now all that's left to do is decide which scent to burn next!
